Venture Empire privacy policy
What the Venture Empire game collects, why, and how to switch it off.
Who is responsible
Venture Empire (Android games.ventureempire.venture_empire, iOS games.ventureempire.ventureEmpire) is published by Rising Throne, the studio behind therisingthrone.com. Rising Throne decides why and how the data described here is used. Write to contact@therisingthrone.com with any question about your data, including a request to see, correct or delete it.
This policy covers the game. therisingthrone.com has its own notice: the Rising Throne privacy notice.
In short
- Venture Empire has no account, no ads, no real-money purchases and no location access. You can play offline.
- Your careers, collection and settings stay on your device.
- Anonymous usage counts and crash reports are shared by default. One switch in Settings, Privacy turns them off.
What the game collects
Usage counts and crash reports
Venture Empire uses Google’s Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. While sharing is on, the game sends:
- the start and the end of the introduction;
- each piece you acquire: its category, its catalogue item and the price in game money;
- each achievement you unlock and each membership level you reach;
- which screen you are on: the four main tabs (Home, Collection, Discover and Empire) and the other screens you open;
- the opening story you chose, as a property of your installation;
- crash and error reports: the error, the state of the game and basic device details at that moment. A failure while the game starts is recorded too.
The game sends only catalogue ids, categories and counts. It does not send the names or text you type, your save contents, career ids or amounts you enter.
Firebase also records some technical details by itself: the app version, device model, operating system and its version, language, a random Firebase installation identifier, and an approximate region that Google works out from your connection. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
The game does not use your advertising ID. The Android build removes that permission and turns off advertising-ID collection and ad personalisation in Firebase, and the iPhone configuration has ads switched off.
What stays on your device
Your founder profile, career progress, purchases made with game money, collection, journal, preferences and local backups are stored on your device. Venture Empire has no account and no cloud save, so none of this is uploaded.
- Saves: you can export a career to a file or import one through your phone’s file and share screens. A save can contain your founder name and game history. The app or storage you choose receives the file under its own terms; the game does not copy it anywhere itself.
- Device backups: your phone’s backup, through Google or iCloud, may include the game’s data depending on your settings. Apple or Google manages those backups.
- Widgets and reminders: widgets show a summary of your progress from a local copy, on your home or lock screen. Reminders are off until you turn them on, and the game then asks for notification permission. They are scheduled on your phone; there is no push notification server.
- Links: a link you open, such as the source page for a place in the collection, opens in your browser, which then deals with that site under its own policy.
- Not used: the game does not use your location, contacts, camera or microphone, and it does not currently connect to Game Center or Google Play Games. If a later version adds any of these, this policy will say so.
In this version, apart from Firebase, the game does not connect to the internet by itself.
Help & about, Email us opens your e-mail app with a message to contact@therisingthrone.com that names the game, the app version, your platform and the game language. We receive your address and message, and we keep them to answer you.
The switch in the game
Open Settings, then Privacy. The row reads:
Help improve the game
Anonymous usage counts and crash reports. On by default; turn it off any time.
On a small screen it shortens to “Anonymous usage and crash reports.” The same switch appears during first-run setup:
Help improve the game
On by default. Shares anonymous usage counts and crash reports. Turn it off any time.
In Turkish the game shows:
Oyunu geliştirmemize yardımcı ol
Anonim kullanım sayıları ve çökme raporları. Varsayılan olarak açık; istediğin zaman kapatabilirsin.
and, during first-run setup:
Oyunu geliştirmemize yardımcı ol
Varsayılan olarak açıktır. Anonim kullanım sayıları ve çökme raporları paylaşılır. İstediğin zaman kapatabilirsin.
Sharing is on until you turn it off. Turning it off stops Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collection on your device, so no more usage counts or crash reports are sent, and the game remembers your choice. The Privacy row in Settings shows “Sharing on” or “Sharing off”.
Switching the setting off also resets the game’s Firebase identifier. The Reset my analytics ID button on the same screen does that reset on its own: the game gets a new anonymous ID, earlier anonymous data can no longer be linked to your device, and crash reports not yet sent are discarded. Neither removes data Firebase has already received; the delete data page explains how to ask for that.
The game calls the data “anonymous” because we never see names, accounts or contact details. The random installation identifier makes it pseudonymous rather than anonymous in the strict legal sense, so we treat it as personal data and honour the rights described below.
Why we may use your data
We use usage counts and crash reports because it is in our legitimate interest to keep the game working and to improve it (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR; Article 5(2)(f) of Turkish Law No. 6698, KVKK). This is why the switch starts on, and why you can object at any time by turning it off. E-mails you send us we use to answer you and to fix the problem you describe, which is also our legitimate interest.
Google as our processor
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are Google services. For them, Google processes data on our behalf under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms. Google’s documents:
- Privacy and security in Firebase
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
How long data is kept
- Crash reports: Google’s Firebase documentation says Crashlytics keeps crash stack traces and the identifiers that go with them for 90 days.
- Usage counts in Google Analytics: event-level data is kept for 14 months, the longest period Google Analytics allows, and is then deleted. Standard aggregated reports are not affected by that setting.
- E-mails you send us: until we no longer need them to answer you, and then we delete them.
- Data on your device: until you delete the career, clear the app’s data or remove the game.
Children
The game does not ask for your age and has no accounts. It is not set up differently for younger players: the collection described here applies to everyone who plays it. If a parent or guardian wants data deleted, use the steps on the delete data page or write to us.
Transfers outside your country
Google processes data in several countries, including the United States. Its Firebase privacy page states that Google complies with the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks and the UK Extension. If you live in Türkiye, article 9 of KVKK governs transfers abroad; write to us if you want to know how it applies here.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us for access to the data we hold about you, for its correction or deletion, to restrict how we use it, or to object to it. Under the GDPR you can also ask for the data you provided in a usable format. In Türkiye, article 11 of KVKK gives you the matching rights, including learning whether your data is processed, why, and who receives it.
We can only find data we can tie to you. Usage and crash data is linked to a random identifier on your device, not to your name, so we cannot look it up from your name or e-mail address. Turning the switch off is the most reliable way to stop further collection. E-mails you sent us we can find from the address you used and roughly when you wrote.
Write to contact@therisingthrone.com and tell us which game and phone you use. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live; in Türkiye that is the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, kvkk.gov.tr).
